Pastor Andy Moehn

Andy and Kacey Moehn and their four children, live in Blountville, TN. Andy has been involved in part and full time vocational ministry for over 20 years serving in many ministry areas including, youth, worship, and solo pastoring. Ordained as a Teaching Elder in the PCA in 2003, his passion is to see people come to know the Good News of Jesus Christ and to see the implications of the Gospel applied to everyday life. Kacey has been involved in many ministry areas over the past 20 years as well. Much of her experience is in music and worship and she has a passion for helping hurting women of all ages experience the hope and healing of Jesus.

Andy writes, “Kacey and I met at Taylor University, Upland IN, and were married in 1992. A few years after college we both attended Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO and God privileged us to be part of the planting of Grace PCA in St. Charles, MO. We had been involved in another church plant before seminary, Christ Covenant PCA in Knoxville, TN so the idea of meeting in a school, setting up and tearing down each week did not scare us. After completing seminary, Grace PCA called me to be their first Assistant Pastor. Since then, we have been part of churches in Ohio and Tennessee.”

What has been the most shaping part of your journey with Christ? “The short answer is suffering. God has granted us good physical health, so the suffering we encountered was relational and emotional and it was in the context of the church. We spent five years in a sort of God-orchestrated desert journey away from full time ministry. We longed to be back but God was doing a deep work in our hearts. We will never know all the things He was doing then or will use that time for, but we are confident that He was “in” that time away from church ministry. In it He caused our compassion for others to grow, our desire to tell people that Jesus offers real hope and that it is most often understood through suffering. And this is the hope we want for everyone we encounter.”

If you do not find Andy preparing for sermons or practicing music, you will likely find him exercising, learning to play golf, playing with the kids, working on things around the house or on the cars, or maybe watching Pittsburgh Penguins games on television. “As a family, we love to have fun together, playing games, watching movies, and having people in our home because we enjoy being with others and developing relationships.”
